Lyrics
I Never Thought (They'd Blow The City Away)

i never thought i would see the day
they'd blow the city away
i never thought i'd see the day
no i didn't

i never knew what you were there
you didn't say what you knew was yeah
going to win the way
you know it's now

never knew the way
never knew the way
never knew the way

i never thought i would see the day
they'd blow the city away

Great live feel to this, the fade-in adds to it... Like walking in a (smokey?) club. Really cool riffs and vocals !

There is a great live in the studio rock and roll feel to this one.  The guitars anf how it interacts with the vocals really hits the spot.

a little more background on this:
it's my old Kalamazoo single pickup electric. i used the GB 2 amp simulator, started with American clean distortion (or something like that) and tweaked it to form two different variants of guitar sound - i think i adjusted the mid and presence settings. i also used the built-in compressor set to 100% and a little echo
drums are Foundation Rock loop 8 - modified variously, and i penciled in some fills to give it a little life
no processing on the vocals (except a tight slapback echo and reverb) - but at the end there are two pitch shifted versions for harmony (one up and one down) -- i didn't feel a need to do any EQ on it - that kept it nice and unintelligible all tracks got a large amount of "living room" reverb
