VAGABOND

I
I am a vagabond,
sent here to scour the wide world o'er;
wandering in search of
LOVE;
---not a long and cold syringe,
---no scalpel in skilled surgeon's hands.
I seek a warm embrace,
and a reassuring smile...

II
I wander your cities...
so many children without means!
I offer my empty hands;
---not a pius platitude,
---no ideology of fools.
They need a parent's love,
in place of all the lies that 
they see through.
I am mystified!
Should I have stayed behind the veil?
I have had my fill
of all your crosses and your nails!

III
No exit!
No scapegoat!
No best laid plans of mice or men!
No solvent
will cleanse the blood from off of our hands,
if we choose to turn away;
and do nothing,
as the long dark night falls upon our day...

IV
I have seen so much pain.
Could fill the space between the stars!
My scarred soul, it trembles!
Soon
I'll fly from this place!
My bags are packed... ready to go;
but I will carry this sorrow
wherever I do roam.
Is there something I must learn?
I mustn't falter... mustn't fail...
I'm a vagabond;
